About the 2017 WFTGA Convention
Iran won the bid to host the convention at WFTGA 2015 General Assembly in Prague, ahead of Denmark and Singapore. The official program brought tourist guides and tourism professionals to Tehran, with pre- and post-convention travel covering destinations including Zanjan, Hamadan, Shiraz, Persepolis, Yazd and Isfahan.
The gathering focused on professional guiding, interpretation and cultural exchange. President Hassan Rouhani also addressed participants. Because this is an archival report, political statements made at the event are not presented as current travel guidance.
For current trip planning, see the Tehran travel guide and Iran tours. The WFTGA archive provides the organization official record of the convention.
