It describes a main course exceeding 13 kilometres and a Doolab-e branch exceeding 29 kilometres, with a mother well reaching 300 metres on that branch. Gravity moves the water toward its outlet, while vertical shafts provide access for construction and maintenance. The underground route forms only part of a wider landscape of water distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"water-sharing-and-local-knowledge\"><\/span>Water Sharing and Local Knowledge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The value of a qanat extends beyond its excavation. Shared maintenance and agreed water turns connect engineering with community life.
