The houses have been built in a steep slope in the step-like rows, meaning that the roof of each house is the yard of the upper one. They are mostly built of stone and wood and the special location and architecture of the houses add to the attractiveness of the village.

Photo by rezgar@localguidesconnect.com

A trip to Uraman will be a visit to history, culture, architecture and the amazing nature of Zagros.

Read More

Parau Cave: A Geological Marvel Near Kermanshah

Iran’s Diverse Ethnicities: A Guide to its People

Road Trip to Kurdistan: An Itinerary for Adventure

Travel Safety in Iran: Separating Myths from Facts

Nowruz Rituals in the Iranian-Kurdish village of Palangan

<div class="kksr-icon" style="width: 16px;
