Zanjan<\/strong> is a base for exploring the city\u2019s bazaar and museums, with separate trips into the surrounding province. Distinguish the city sights from Soltaniyeh and Chehrabad when planning a route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rakhtshooy Khaneh<\/strong> is a former public laundry in Zanjan, not an ancient ruin. The mausoleum of Oljaytu stands in the separate city of Soltaniyeh<\/strong>, also in Zanjan Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit Iran identifies knife-making, filigree, copperware and charooq<\/strong>, traditional footwear, among the province\u2019s handicrafts. These give a more specific starting point for browsing than a general promise of unique souvenirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For local food, Visit Iran names shish andaz<\/strong>, associated with the eve of Chaharshanbe Suri, and soups including bulgur ash and kashi ash. The regional guide offers these as Zanjan examples; a dish appearing on a restaurant menu does not by itself make it a local speciality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start with the city\u2019s museum and bazaar area, then decide which provincial destinations fit the rest of the journey. A city visit and a tour of the province require different amounts of travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
