The Islamic lunar date should not be mistaken for a medieval Christian-era date. An earlier crossing may have occupied the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bridge is approximately 132 metres long and 12 metres wide. Sussan Babaie&#8217;s account links these names to a neighbourhood, a nearby shrine and the bridge&#8217;s royal associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hasanabad was the neighbourhood north of the river. Baba Rokn al-Din refers to a shrine nearby. The different levels let visitors see how circulation, seating and water control were combined in one structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit Iran records 24 spans, with wooden barriers historically used to hold back water. The bridge also functioned as a dam: controlling the upstream water level supported irrigation and created space for recreation. Compare that repetition with the central pavilion, which gives the long elevation a focal point. The aerial photograph and riverbank views show the relationship more clearly than a claim that its symmetry is unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stone Lions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit Iran describes two stone lions at the eastern corners of the bridge and associates them with Bakhtiari guards.
