Located within the famous Lavizan Forests<\/strong>, known for their green parrots, Tehran Bird Garden<\/strong> is the largest bird garden in Iran, designed to resemble the birds’ natural habitats. Covering over 20 hectares, it houses around 250 species of birds from around the world, totaling approximately 20,000 birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction and Phases<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The garden was constructed over three years and has two main phases. The first phase, Dashtechar<\/strong>, opened in May 2013 and houses birds that are kept in cages or cannot fly. The second phase, Abchar<\/strong>, is for flying birds and has a netted ceiling to prevent them from escaping while protecting them from other animals. This structure, supported by 12 main pillars and 68 surrounding columns, was built between 2011 and 2017, using 70 kilometers of cable and netting from Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n
