Its design follows the four-iwan tradition found in many Iranian mosques and religious schools. A large central courtyard is framed by two-story arcades containing rooms historically used by students of religious sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tilework, minarets, iwans, domes, and the rhythm of the courtyard give the complex a distinctive Qajar character. The official Visit Iran description notes that the school has about 60 chambers around its courtyard. It also highlights a clock made in France in 1880 and later installed between two minarets above the northern iwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the-library-and-religious-school\"><\/span>The Library and Religious School<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The complex has long combined worship with religious education. Its library was added later and became an important repository of manuscripts and lithographic books. This educational role continues to distinguish Motahari Mosque-School from monuments that function primarily as museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"visiting-motahari-mosque\"><\/span>Visiting Motahari Mosque<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motahari Mosque-School is near Baharestan Square in central Tehran. Because it is an active institution, public access can vary and should not be assumed. Visitors should check locally before making a dedicated trip, dress respectfully, avoid disrupting worship or classes, and follow any photography restrictions in place.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not rely on old reports that a guide can automatically secure entry. Access policies can change, and religious or educational activities take priority.
