The environment of the time encouraged the exchange of ideas and the development of disciplines such as <strong>astronomy<\/strong>, <strong>medicine<\/strong>, and <strong>ethics<\/strong>. The influence of <strong>Zoroastrian philosophy<\/strong>, with its emphasis on <strong>dualism<\/strong>, <strong>morality<\/strong>, and the <strong>struggle between good and evil<\/strong>, laid a philosophical foundation to the Iranian thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the great examples of engineering from the <strong>Achaemenid era<\/strong> is the invention of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/surfiran.com\/mag\/persian-qanat\/\">qanats<\/a><\/strong>, a <strong>water management system<\/strong> used for irrigation. Often called the \u201c<strong>Father of Algebra<\/strong>\u201d, al-Khwarizmi\u2019s most introduced the <strong>Logarithm table<\/strong> and developed <strong>algebra<\/strong>. The term \u201calgebra\u201d itself derives from the word \u201c<strong>al-jabr<\/strong>\u201d used in his book <em><strong>Kitab al-Mukhtasar fi Hisab al-Jabr wal-Muqabala<\/strong><\/em> (The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing). He also greatly contributed to <strong>arithmetic<\/strong>, <strong>trigonometry<\/strong>, and <strong>astronomy<\/strong>.
