Its exterior is shaped by 24 projecting ribs, which create strong vertical shadows and give the tower its distinctive profile. The monument is commonly associated with Tughril I, who died in Rey in 1063. The attribution has long been part of the site&#8217;s historical identity, although details surrounding medieval burials at the monument should be treated cautiously.<\/p>\n<p>The tower&#8217;s design is notable for its restrained brickwork and strongly articulated exterior. The repeated ribs break up the circular mass and emphasize height, while the thick masonry reflects the engineering traditions used for monumental tomb towers in medieval Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The upper section has undergone restoration over time. Naser al-Din Shah ordered repairs in the Qajar period when parts of the structure were deteriorating.
