Nowruz: The Persian New Year
Norooz is the most important holiday in Iran, marking the official New Year of the country. It is the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian solar calendar. Norooz has been celebrated for over 3,000 years Iran.

Thanks to Nowruz, Tehran is all peaceful and quiet, as millions of people will be out of town to enjoy the holidays. City officials make special arrangements before Nowruz to make city nicer and cleaner during the new holidays.
Sizdah Bedar is an Iranian festival held annually on the thirteenth day of Farvardin (the first month of the Iranian calendar), during which people spend time picnicking outdoors. It marks the end of the Nowruz holidays in Iran.
The United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Nowruz celebrates the start of the Persian spring festival March 21 every year. It occurs the moment of the March equinox.
