Update: Iran Today – What We Want You to Know

To Our SURFIRAN Guests: What You Need to Know About the Current Situation

We’re Still Here – A Second Message from Iran (June 21, 2025)

Dear Friends,

Since our last message, we’ve received dozens of kind, heartfelt notes from many of you. Some wrote to check on us. Others shared their memories of Iran. All of them reminded us of the deep connection we’ve built through travel—and how much that still matters, especially now.

Life Continues—With Hope and Caution

We want you to know: we are still here. Our team in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Yazd, and beyond is safe. Daily life continues, not without concern, but with strength, community, and the quiet resilience you may remember from your time here.

Shops are open. Families gather. Tea is shared. And like you, we are hoping for calmer days ahead.

The Spirit of Travel Lives On

In the face of uncertainty, we hold close the values that define SURFIRAN: human connection, cultural respect, and authentic experiences. These values don’t disappear when borders close or headlines shift—they grow stronger.

Across Iran, our guides, drivers, hosts, and friends continue to reach out, asking when they’ll meet guests again. For many, welcoming travelers is not just work—it’s purpose.

Share a Memory, Stay Connected

If you’ve visited Iran with us, we invite you to share a photo or a memory that stayed with you. In times like these, remembering kindness, beauty, and connection can be a quiet act of hope.

Feel free to reply to this email or message us on WhatsApp. We’d love to hear from you.

We’ll continue sharing updates as we have them. Until then, thank you for your trust. Your support means more than ever.

With care, from inside Iran—

Update: Iran Today – What We Want You to Know (June 13, 2025)

Dear Friends,

We know many of you—our past travelers, future guests, and those who hold Iran close to heart—are deeply concerned by recent headlines. Reports of military escalation between Israel and Iran have understandably raised questions and anxiety. We want to speak to you openly and sincerely during this time.

Current Situation

In the past 48 hours, tensions in the region have escalated significantly. Military actions have taken place, prompting global concern and attention.

We want to reassure you that our team in Iran is safe, and that we are closely monitoring developments. In major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz, daily life continues with caution and awareness. While uncertainty exists, there is calm and resilience on the ground.

To Our Past Travelers

You’ve explored Iran’s rich heritage, walked through ancient bazaars, and shared unforgettable moments with local communities. You’ve seen firsthand the warmth, generosity, and depth of Iranian culture.

We understand how difficult it is to see a place you love in distress. Please know that the Iranian people remain resilient, peaceful, and hopeful—eager for peace and the chance to share their culture with the world once more.

For Those Planning a Visit

Your safety will always come first. At this time, we advise against international travel to Iran until conditions stabilize. Our team is ready to answer your questions, offer guidance, and support any changes to your plans.

Despite current tensions, most areas of Iran remain stable for residents. Should the situation change, we will provide prompt and honest updates.

Our Ongoing Commitment

These are challenging days for all of us in Iran. Yet even now, we are thinking of you—our extended global family. Your messages of care, concern, and solidarity remind us of the meaningful connections we’ve built together.

SURFIRAN remains committed to our core values: genuine connection, safety, and cultural understanding. When the time comes, we look forward to welcoming you back to a safe and peaceful Iran.

Until then, please don’t hesitate to reach out with your thoughts or concerns. We’re here for you.

  3. Dear SurfIran team!

Any foreigner who has travelled to Iran over the last years will have experienced — not necessarily by knowledge, but certainly by tasting the atmosphere — how peaceful, inviting and friendly your country is. Witnessing the events of today fills me with great sorrow, but also with anger towards those responsible. It seems impossible to do anything other than witness the events as they unfold, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Iran as you are facing this horrible situation. Be strong, be brave, be rightful!

By heartfelt wishes for the best,
    Hans

  4. The ongoing conflict, including Israel’s attack on Iran, is appalling. I hope you and your families stay safe.

  5. Although I have not yet visited your beautiful country, I have future plans to visit. I’m distressed by the events that are unfolding and wish to offer my prayers and support to the people of Iran during this terrible time. I certainly hope relief is on the horizon so the people and country I have heard so many wonderful things about can resume living in peace.

  6. Hello Saye,
September last year left an indelible memory in my heart,
The burnt opium laced lips that kissed me, that left me forever majnun.
Iran she sings like a silver fountain at dawn .
meadows so vast, mountains so high
in the place of flowers, there was such a smell of grass
    life is not empty
    there is kindness
    there are apples
    there is faith
yes, as long as there are poppies, one must live
in my heart, there is something
    like a grove of light.
Keep safe Surfiran , my love affaire continues
    Steve jones

  7. Hello,
    To all the Surfiran Team.
I worked and travelled in Iran years ago mostly based in Bander Abbas, and have only love and praise for the whole of Iran and it’s wonderful people,
I have many years overland traveling by 4×4 and the best country I’ve ever been to is by a long way Iran, I will never hear anything bad said about Iran, as an English man I’m ashamed of the way Iran has been treated by false western media.
Good luck and best wishes to you all at this time, please be safe.

    1. Dear Peter,

  8. For many years Iran has been on my bucket list. I would really love to see for myself its amazing historical sites in addition to experiencing its rich, ancient culture and the famous hospitality of the Iranian people. I will wait patiently for the day that I am able to visit, but until then, I join many others in wishing you the very best and in praying for peace and stability to return soon, not just to Iran but to the whole of our increasingly turbulent world.

    1. Dear Adam,

Thank you for your thoughtful message and kind wishes. It means a great deal to know that Iran remains high on your travel list, and we truly look forward to the day you can experience its history, culture, and hospitality firsthand.

Your support and prayers for peace are deeply appreciated—not just for Iran, but for all who hope for a more stable world.

Until then, we’ll be here—ready to welcome you when the time comes.
