Different Sections of Eram Park

You might wonder what Eram Park Tehran has to offer. The answer is that everything you have experienced for fun in Iran can be found here. The amusement park alone, with over 110 rides, transports you to another world. Eram Zoo is one of the oldest and largest wildlife parks in the country. The park also offers a pool, fishing, a money museum, restaurants, fast food, bowling alleys, and beautiful green and forested areas. Let’s explore all these sections and the activities you can enjoy in the park.

First, it’s worth noting that most animals in this zoo are not in cages; they have large enclosures. This has led to the breeding of most animals, except for felines, in the park. Animals only reproduce when they are in good mental and physical condition, indicating proper care. If you want to feed the animals, we recommend visiting on even days from 10 AM to 1 PM to catch the feeding time for the lions.

Due to the decline of some species, since 2013, certain animals have been designated as protected symbols of Eram Zoo:

  • Persian Leopard
  • Iranian Fallow Deer
  • Bactrian Camel
  • White Bengal Tiger
  • Sri Lankan Elephant

Animal Species at Eram Zoo Tehran

The establishment of Eram Zoo dates back to the era of Naser al-Din Shah, and it existed long before Eram Park was built. In the early 1990s, this zoo was added to Eram Park Tehran. The variety of animal species at Eram Zoo includes 121 types and 800 different animals. About 60% of these animals are native, and the rest are from other countries.

Other animals include giraffes, squirrels, wolves, foxes, hamsters, pelicans, buzzards, kestrels, Egyptian vultures, peacocks, European fallow deer, short-snouted crocodiles, turtles, pythons, and iguanas. With improvements in recent years and expansion plans, two elephants will be added to the zoo soon. Additionally, 52 hectares in the Kouhsar area of Tehran have been allocated for these animals to live freely.
