In Pictures: Restoration of the Tomb of Cyrus the Great
Restoration Efforts Underway at the Tomb of Cyrus the Great in Pasargadae.
The restoration and management project for the Pasargadae site and the Tomb of Cyrus the Great is now in progress.
The Pasargadae World Heritage Base recently released images showcasing the restoration work at the Tomb of Cyrus. Earlier this year, it was announced that six national conservation and restoration projects would be implemented at the Pasargadae World Heritage site.
The restoration work includes cleaning damaging elements from the tomb’s surface and reinforcing weakened areas, as shown in the released images.
Other ongoing projects include landscaping the entrance area, clearing the site of weeds, launching the first phase of the tourism infrastructure project, monitoring the site and its protected zones, organizing the emergency exit, preserving and restoring the stone tower, revising the site boundaries, safeguarding and restoring museum maps, and enhancing lighting around the site.
