Nartitee Guesthouse: Where you feel most at home

Where you feel most at home

Nartitee is a 100-year-old guesthouse in the heart of desert, every corner of which turns your journey to a unique experience.

In my opinion, each city in Iran is worth a visit. But if I had to recommend only one to a tourist, Yazd would definitely be on top of my list. This gorgeous city in the heart of the desert, with its adobe houses and its tranquility, reminds me of ancient tales. The city is really beautiful and a special destination in Iran.

Now, the good news is that just within a few minutes distance from the city, a unique guesthouse is located. The house, which is called “Nartitee” is a destination itself. This 100-year-old house is not just a residence but is a place where you are going to feel most at home.

Ramtin and Tina are a young couple who have turned their ancestral home to a guesthouse. They are the fourth generation of the family who have decided to share the ancient spirit of a Zoroastrian family with visitors. So, instead of abandoning this old house, they have turned it to a lovely guesthouse, where you are going to experience a truly different stay.

The house has 9 rooms and is located in a 1000-meter garden, full of pomegranate trees. That’s why they call the guesthouse Nartitee. In the local language, nartitee means pomegranate bloom. If you manage to be there during spring, you will be surrounded by thousands of red flowers and their fresh, lovely scent. And if you plan to stay in Nartitee during autumn, you can enjoy picking and eating ripe pomegranates in the garden. Taft, the city where the guesthouse is located, is famous for its delicious, sweet pomegranates. So, you are going to taste the most delicious pomegranates of your life here! The sounds of birds playing joyfully in the garden and the starry sky of the desert surrounding the house are other fascinating parts of your stay in Nartitee.

As the house is located at a higher altitude around 30-kilometers away from Yazd, it is normally 7 to 8 degrees cooler than the city. There are also buses in Yazd which go to Taft every 20 minutes, so you have the opportunity to visit the attractions of the city as well as staying away from its crowd. You can also rent a bicycle in Nartitee and discover the town by yourself.

The house has preserved its traditional style and you are going to experiencing a traditional lifestyle just as the previous residences of the house. The corridors, the courtyard and most importantly, the bathrooms are shared here. There are different games in different corners of the house and you can socialize with the owners and other guests of the house while playing.

Besides, there is a piano in the house and Ramtin sometimes sets a fire in the garden at nights so the guests can enjoy the music and the beautiful sky of the night together. As I mentioned earlier, Nartitee is not just a guesthouse. It is, in fact, a place where everybody intends to make you feel at home and I assure you, the intimacy you are going to experience here will make it so heart-breaking for you to leave!
