“We have had the great luck of being born on this planet and not only be here but also to take a walk on it, without hurry and with open minds like two children who go out to explore new sensations. We travel without expectations and we are willing to live while learning life. That’s what we want, to leave the stage and the scenery in which our life unfolds just like the movie “The Truman Show”; To discover ourselves outside our comfort zones.

Javi and Marta are a Spanish couple (35 and 30 years old) who are currently traveling the world. As they have mentioned on their blog, traveling is a way of discovering themselves while discovering the world. But it is not the whole story about this amazing journey they’re on. Javi and Marta started a wonderful project to create their own campaign for the collection of donations for building the largest children’s cancer center in Europe which will attend children from any corner of the world.  To collect donations, they simultaneously started a journey around the world and by now, they visited many countries on their trip.

SURFIRAN team arranged a trip to the Kavir desert or Dasht-e-Kavir (also known as Kavir-e Namak or Great Salt Desert) to make the desire of this couple about visiting a real desert come true. It is one of the Iranian sites that has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 2016. It is the 27th largest deserts of the world and NASA has recorded a temperature of about 70’7 ° C between 2003 and 2010 confirming that it is one of the warmest spots on the planet.

What makes this desert even more special is its curious formations created by the erosion of water, salt, sand, and wind. They are called “Kaluts” and are a diverse set of hills and rocks molded by the desert wind. They always evolve and change due to the force of erosion which gives the desert a certain ephemeral condition.

Javi and Marta visited Maranjab desert on their trip to Iran but going to the desert and discovering it needs more experience and one cannot do it without the help of a specialized team. So they took a tour with SURFIRAN who they believe are “one of the most serious and professional companies specialized in the desert and all kinds of guided tours in Iran”

The first day their guide Kian took them to an authentic desert village where they could enjoy an exquisite meal in the courtyard of a traditional house.

Afterward, they headed to the center of the Kavir desert where they could feel like authentic Dakar participants riding on wonderful sand dunes and enjoying the amazing capacity of a vehicle prepared for the desert.

From a high point, they were able to watch the sunset and set up a camp for the night.

A fire was set as well to illuminate the starry night, prepare the dinner and give them warmth.

“Spending a night in the desert is one of the vital experiences that you must not miss. Watching the starry sky in the middle of nowhere makes you feel very small in the middle of the universe. It is like watching the sky and the milky way with 3D glasses in detail without needing a telescope.”

And beyond that, their experience with SURFIRAN team was a very positive experience: “ As our experience was a success and we want yours to be too, we leave you the contact of a serious and reliable company, Elham from SURFIRAN was responsible for coordinating and organizing our trip. She is a  tremendously kind and meticulous woman who is very attentive and does not miss even the smallest details.”
