Iran 4-Day Tour
Adventure and Trekking Tour in the North of Iran
In this expedition, we explore specific parts of East Alborz Mountain Range. We will see how high walls of Alborz divide the climate and culture between the desert in the south and Hyrcanian jungles in the north which survived before the ice age. We will use abandoned and sneaky dirt roads, and dry water paths and rivers which go more through the deeper parts in nature and protected areas, to avoid the touristic areas and show our guests the real nature of Iran.
Badab-e Surt mineral spring, Khaled Nabi cemetery, and the famous Hyrcanian forests of Golestan province are the highlights of our journey
DAY 1: IRON & SALT
Starting in Tehran, we head eastwards. This road which is known as Firuz Kuh road takes us to the famous bridge of Veresk which was built during World War II by Austrian engineers. It is 110 meters high and has been in use since 1937 by trains. We will continue our journey to cross the mountains through our sneaky routes and dirt roads to get on the highest balcony at 3000 meters elevation. When you stand on this 45 KM ridge, you will realize how it keeps the clouds and forests on one side and the desert on the other side. After lunch, we have to cross Parvar protected area before we arrive at the unique spring of Badab-e Surt. After thousands of years, the combination of salty water and iron oxide, the water from two springs creates a unique scene of natural pool balconies in nice orange color at the elevation of 1840M. After visiting this natural national heritage site, we will set up our camp at the side of the forest and prepare our dinner (local house accommodation is also possible upon request).

DAY 2: HYRACANIAN FORESTS
After breakfast and our last walk on the grassland around the spring, we will continue through the dry water lines and dirt roads to arrive at small desert microclimate with lots of natural colors and shapes on the ground. Then again, by crossing a neck northward, we will see how the climate changes so quickly in this area. This diversity in climate brings diversity to wildlife, human life, and their culture. By noon, we will cross Golestan province. There are many protected areas, wildlife reserves, and national parks in this area.
Our experts will choose one of these sites depending on the month and the weather who has a good view of the area. We can also have our optional walk in the evening and the morning after. There is a high chance of seeing wildlife during these walks. We will camp on somewhere with a nice viewpoint in the evening (Local house accommodation is also possible upon request).

DAY 3: KHALED NABI AND TURKMEN LAND
After breakfast, we will cross the last ridge of mountains to arrive at the northern side and get into the area where Turkmens live with their famous horses. We will get into the heart of this region and drive up to the shrine of Khaled Nabi (whom Turkmens believe to be a pre-Islamic prophet) to see this entire vast region in one panoramic view. We will have some walk in the cemetery next to the shrine to see the unique stones they used in ancient times. After watching the sunset from up there, we will drive down and stay with the locals in their local house tonight to enjoy their hospitality.

DAY 4: OLD FAMOUS SILK ROAD
We will say goodbye to the locals this morning and continue our trip to the south; we will cross forests and mountains to arrive in the desert side. Again, we will see how all of these climates could be as close as 20KM to each other. We will visit the Shrine of Bayazid Bastami who was a Persian Sufi known as “the King of the Gnostics”. We will continue to Damghan and visit one of the old caravanserais on the famous old Silk Road on our way to Tehran.
